This company was founded in 1975, and was transformed into the Woelke ndustrieelektronik with headquarter in Essen in 1985. It is a manufacturer who specialized in producing environmental measuring instruments for application in explosion-endangered areas and especially the coal mines. Since 2003 their production is certified under DMT 03 ATEX ZQS/E208.

Based on experiences Woelke has also developed new measurement devices for the measurement of gas concentration of 8 different gases and 3 physical properties. These new devices are certified and manufactured according to the ATEX directives of the European Commission. They are sold under ANNOVEX label (plastic cabinet for mining industry) and MONIMET label (cast metal cabinet for mining industry).
